We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 Hoosier Feeder Outstanding Student Award has been granted to Kollyn Peed for his achievements in the Welding Technology Program at Whitewater Career Center. In addition to his consistent academic performance, exemplary behavior, and strong work ethic, Kollyn has obtained AWS certifications in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW.
Phil Bedel, welding technology instructor at Whitewater Career Center, commends Kollyn's welding skills, stating, “Kollyn, has truly impressed everyone with his welding prowess, earning certifications across various welding techniques.”
Alongside the recognition, Hoosier Feeder has awarded Kollyn a $500 grant for welding supplies to help him start his career. Kollyn plans to pursue a career in the construction industry, aiming to join the Ironworkers union. He is excited about traveling and contributing to the construction of buildings.
Hoosier Feeder is a proud supporter of Whitewater Career Center which offers a diverse range of 13 career training programs for high school students. The Welding Technology Program, in particular, provides an extensive curriculum covering various welding techniques like oxy-fuel cutting, shielded metal arc welding, as well as emphasizing safety skills, print reading, electrical principles, and mechanical drawing.
Kollyn's journey is a testament to the rewards of hard work and dedication. With support from Hoosier Feeder and training from Whitewater Career Center Kollyn is positioned for success in the welding industry. Congratulations to Kollyn on this well-deserved recognition!
