In a recent project, a customer needed to singulate and orient metal push nuts in preparation for the next phase in the automation process.
Surrounding equipment presented height constraints, specifically impacting the prefeed hopper.
To optimize their process and accommodate the environmental height constraints, we designed a vibratory feeder bowl and integrated hopper and conveyor elevator prefeed system.
The result is a compact, low maintenance, reliable part orienting solution.
Vibratory Feeders are used to orient and discharge bulk parts in a repeatable position for the assembly process. They are ideal for a wide range of industries and applications, from automotive and medical to electronics and general manufacturing. This 15” feeder bowl system is constructed with 304 Stainless-Steel and utilizes a low-level sensor and air-jets to assist part exit.
The system features a Stainless-Steel storage hopper, low-level sensor, and 3’ long cleated conveyor operating as an elevator. The Dorner 2200 iDrive provided by Hoosier Conveyor Company allows the entire system to remain within the height constraints due to surrounding equipment.
